The Mayo’s Bath Remodel
The Mayo’s wanted to give their outdated bathroom a facelift. Wisler was called in to replace the vinyl flooring with 12×12 tile, remove the acrylic tub/shower insert and install a walk-in tiled shower with pebble floor and two sizes of tile. Notice by adding the 12×12 on the straight with a row of 6×6 on the straight as a border then using the same 6×6 on the diagonal you give interest and height to a small bathroom…even with obscure glass!
Please notice the removal of the old shower access panel that was placed beside the toilet. With the new shower valves, a homeowner or plumber can access the water lines from the shower. Wisler has also added cabinet storage above the toilet that expands the width of the wall, a double vanity and two recessed medicine/mirror cabinets that when closed appear to be framed mirrors. The granite is Sienna Bordeaux with under-mount sinks and 8” widespread faucets making it easier to keep clean. Wisler also changed the bath door entrance which once opened into the bathroom and blocked the closet door to a pocket door, now the entrance is wider and the closet can be accessed with ease.
Another important interest to point out is the use of paint and little details, by painting the walls a soft color and painting the trim a white the once small and outlined bathroom now appears wider and fresher in appearance. Also, changing the hinges and doorknobs to match the cabinet and faucet hardware ties the knot for a complete makeover!
