In 2014, my brother Brian and I bought Wisler Plumbing from our father. We set the company on a trajectory for growth, and a lot of our branding and campaigning was centered around who we are. My father started the company back in 1986 and a large part of what Wisler Plumbing is today is thanks to the foundation that he put into place. ‘Thanks, Dad’ is a way to show the meaning behind that story in few words.
We were very fortunate and blessed to be raised by a concerned, loving father. He was working a lot of the time, but he was present in our lives as much as possible. We had a very active father in our lives and along that path we were taught many valuable lessons. Who we are today—and what this organization is today—is due to his morals, his values, and his aspirations about what Wisler Plumbing would eventually become. When we really understand the sacrifices that were made, and the opportunity that we were given, the natural response is for us to be grateful and extend our thanks however possible.
My father was committed to quality plumbing and doing the job right. He made sure that the work that was done would last for a long time. He was also highly dedicated to customer service. Even when something didn’t end up how a customer wanted, they could always rely on the fact that my father would stay true to his word. If he said he would do something, it would get done no matter what (even if it was a major sacrifice for him). He taught me the importance of holding our word high and serving the community and our clients, even if it meant sacrifices from family, time, or money. I think those are some of the values that our organization continues to carry forward.
