At Wisler Plumbing, we’ve always felt that it takes a team of great people in order to make a great company. People are the face of an organization, and the technicians that go into our clients’ homes are what makes us truly great. There are a few important characteristics that we look for when looking for a really great plumber.First and foremost, we look for someone who is knowledgeable and competent. Because our clients will experience a wide range of problems that are sometimes hard to pinpoint, it takes someone knowledgeable in order to diagnose the problem correctly. If a client was complaining of a sewage odor at the front door, figuring out the cause would probably be a challenge. Of course, there is no toilet in this part of the home, so it takes experience to be able to troubleshoot the underlying issue.Plumbers also have a reputation for not maintaining a good image. Whether it’s the stereotypical image of someone with their pants falling down, not being clean, or smelling bad, the perception of plumbers tends to be somewhat negative. We think that a great plumber is someone who cares enough to maintain a proper image. Image is something that makes our clients feel comfortable and if the first impression isn’t great it can sour the entire experience.Another quality that we think is required in order to be a great plumber is the ability to communicate effectively. Because we service clients who don’t have extensive plumbing knowledge, it’s important that our clients understand exactly what the problem is, why it happened, and what we can do to solve it in a way that bests suits their interests. It takes a person with good communication skills to get this information across to someone who knows nothing about plumbing. Again, the whole experience can turn sour if the technician is not courteous or doesn’t speak in an understandable manner.Plumbers should also have the ability to decide what tools and equipment are best suited for the job at hand. There is an extensive array of resources that a plumber has available, but if they don’t have the ability to select the ideal equipment to use it can spell doom for the outcome of that particular job. Mastery of the tools and equipment in this industry is the mark of a great plumber.Lastly, a truly great plumber can make timely repairs or replacements without having to cut any corners. Plumbing is definitely a very detail-oriented job, so a single missed detail can end up resulting in an unnecessary callback. Even though plumbers have several different issues to deal with at once, cutting corners is simply unacceptable. A plumber that can’t be timely without cutting corners will end up making things more difficult for everybody in the long run. This is just a short list of some of the things we think a great plumber would possess. It’s important that everybody we hire at Wisler Plumbing meets our exceedingly high standards.
